Northampton sex offender jailed for breaching sentence requirements
Davood Alekozai has been handed a 64-week jail sentence
Davood Alekozai, a registered sex offender, has been jailed for 64 weeks after he breached the Sex Offenders' Register Requirements.
The 25-year-old, from Northampton, was put on the Sex Offenders Register for five years in December 2023.
That's after he was convicted of a sexual assault that happened the year before.
Alekozai was required to tell police about any aliases he used online, but police found accounts he'd not made them aware of on his devices following a routine visit.
He also failed to complete his annual notification requirement.
A Northamptonshire police spokesperson said "Alekozai was arrested and subsequently charged with two counts of failing to comply with SOR requirements.
"After pleading guilty to the offences at Northampton Crown Court, Alekozai returned to the same last month (May 15) where he was sentenced to 64 weeks in prison."
Lead investigator, Police Constable Andy Glover said: “These breaches may seem very minor but it’s so important for us to manage those on the Sex Offenders’ Register very carefully.
“Any breaches are dealt with robustly and we take an absolute zero-tolerance approach.
