Scheme to mark the Northampton Town ground's birthday
The project marks 30 years of the Sixfields Stadium
To mark the 30th anniversary of Sixfields in October, the Northampton Town Fan Advisory Board (FAB) have announced the launch of the Fan Stones project.
Supporters can arrange to have their name, that of a friend or family member or can even remember a loved one by having their name engraved on a fan stone that will be laid outside the front of the West Stand.
Fans of the club can also purchase a Memento Stone to display at home.
Stones can be ordered via ntfc.fan-stones.co.uk with the proceeds of this being split between projects led by the Northampton Town Fan Advisory Board and the Northampton Town Academy.
Tom Cliffe, the supporters elected director and Chairman of the Northampton Town Advisory Board, added: "This is a fantastic way to both mark the 30th birthday of Sixfields in October and to create a lasting legacy for the future as the proceeds will go towards projects that supporters want to see as we continue to make improvements at Sixfields.
"This is a scheme that I am sure will prove popular, the FAB are delighted to be leading this and we look forward to working with our members and the fan base as a whole on this project.
“We have some good ideas how to use the proceeds and the fact we will also be helping the club's academy feels really good too.”
"We feel this is a wonderful way to recognise the 30th birthday of Sixfields," said Chairman Kelvin Thomas.
"The fan stones will be on display as supporters walk along the front of the West Stand and will give supporters a chance to engrave their name in the history of the club, or to remember a loved one, while supporting the club's future.
"The proceeds of this scheme will be split between supporting projects suggested by the Northampton Town Fan Advisory Board and the club's very important academy.
“The way this project has evolved with Tom and the FAB really shows what working together can achieve for the betterment of the club, which not only shows the level of fan engagement we have but also should make us all very proud.”
