Ryan Burton murder case update
Five men are expected to stand trial in September
A provisional trial date has been set for the autumn in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Ryan Burton in Kettering earlier this year.
It's expected to be underway on September 22nd at Northampton Crown Court and is expected to last between 8 and 10 weeks.
Today's news comes as a pre-trial and plea hearing has taken place for the five defendants - Cameron Williams-Ferguson, Connor White, Kyle Derek McSkimming, Keiton Underwood and Ace Hill – who all entered a not guilty plea to the murder of Ryan.
Ryan, who was originally from Corby, was seriously assaulted at Spring Rise park, near Highfield Road Kettering, shortly before 7pm on Friday January 10th. He sadly died at University Hospital Coventry six days later.
Williams-Ferguson, aged 25, White, aged 25, McSkimming, aged 23, Underwood, aged 20 and 18-year-old Hill, also entered a not guilty plea to a separate count of robbery, which occurred in Wallis Road, Kettering, on the same evening.
All five men will remain in custody until their next hearing at Northampton Crown Court on April 4th, when the trial date is expected to be confirmed.
Ten others arrested as part of the investigation have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
