Road safety event planned in Northamptonshire
We've been hearing more about it
We've been hearing about a free event designed to help drivers to stay safer as they get older.
Driving is an important part of our everyday life, and the Northamptonshire Safer Roads Alliance (NSRA) have set up the Mature Driver Roadshow.
Our ability to drive changes over time for varied reasons, and organisers say it's important to recognise our own abilities behind the wheel.
The NSRA’s Mature Driver Roadshow is aimed at drivers aged 60+ and will cover all distinct aspects of driving. There will be a short talk and then time to meet informally with stand holders.
Free advice will be available on car adaptions, eyesight, how your prescription medications may affect you, and much more. There will also be FREE ‘hint and tip’ sessions available to book, delivered by Northampton Advanced Motorists.
The roadshow takes place on Saturday, July 27, between 9am and 11.30am at Moulton Community Centre in Sandy Lane, Moulton, NN3 7AX.
Keith Millard is Senior Road Safety Officer in the county, and says of the activity:
"It's not designed to take people off the road, but something to help people stay on the road driving for longer and more safely.
"There will be reminders of things we may be guilty of being ignorant of, or event thing s which we may have forgotten."
