It’s hoped that the Sywell Airshow will be re-established as an annual event, after an absence of a few years.

Plans are underway. It takes place this time round at Sywell Aerodrome, near to Hall Farm on June 22nd and 23rd with the Red Arrows set to feature.

Richard Grace from Ultimate Warbird Flights, is one of the organisers and says they were keen to do something special for the 80th anniversary D Day commemorations:

"We have a Spitfire at the Sywell Aerodrome which shot down the first enemy aircraft on D Day, back in June 1944. Plus we have a C47 booked to come for this year's show. That was involved in dropping troops on the day as well.

"It is always fantastic to see the Red Arrows, but especially so at Sywell. We're a smaller venue so it means that you will get to see a bit more than you would be able to spot at a bigger air show."

"We also have an international feel with a wing walker from Switzerland, two World War One planes from Sweden. It's been a case of reaching out to get something you don't see every day!"
