Detectives searching for a missing man in Wellingborough have sadly found a body at the Embankment.

Police officers and crews from Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service have been on the lookout since Saturday evening (February 22nd) following reports of missing man – 30-year-old Sam.

Sadly, at about 2pm today (February 24th), a body was found in the water. Formal identification is yet to take place but it is believed to be Sam.

Detective Inspector Beth Warren said:

ā€œThis is a very sad set of circumstances, and my thoughts are with everyone who loved Sam at this devastating time.

ā€œAlthough formal identification is yet to take place, we have made Sam’s next of kin aware of this tragic discovery and we will continue to support them.ā€

At the present time, detectives are not treating this incident as suspicious and in the coming days will be working to prepare a report for the Coroner.
