Concerned residents in Raunds say they're worried about safety on a stretch of the A45. After multiple fatal incidents on the road an online petition has been set up.

The petition is about safety on the stretch of road between Raunds Warth Park and Thrapston services.

Locals say they cannot wait for another tragedy before taking action, and that the community deserves better than living in constant fear each time we use this stretch of road.

Almost 800 local residents have signed the petition so far which is calling for things like stricter speed limits, traffic calming measures and clearer signage.

North Northamptonshire Council confirmed to Greatest Hits Radio that there have been 16 serious incidents locally since 2014. Sadly five of those were fatal. Four of those fatalities have happened in the last 2 years.

National Highways would be in charge of making changes, we've reached out to them for a comment.
