A Northamptonshire home, originally denied planning permission, has been nominated for a top architectural award.

Northants architect Duncan Greenaway designed the accessible house for his stepfather Paul who suffered with motor neuro disease.

It's now up for a Royal Institute of British Architecture award.

Duncan who runs a practise called Greenaway Architecture told us the nomination is huge:

"The competition is incredible and most of my industry heroes are also shortlisted with stunning projects. I'm delighted to be nominated and I'll be amazed if we win.

"I'd love to see it win because it'd be great to see truly accessible houses which are also attractive to look at gain recognition. I hope it lifts the profile of such designs."
