Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards

The search is on for the finest food and drink in Northants.

This years Northamptonshire Food and Drinks Awards have been launched.

There's 18 categories and it's been running for 16 years.

The Royal Derngate at Northampton will host the prizes being given out on October 17th.

Northamptonshire boasts over 20 quality food and drink festivals and fairs throughout the year – attracting tens of thousands of visitors to the county from across the country.

Rachel Mallows is Director of the event tells us the county is often overlooked on the food map:

"I would say that what is unique about the awards is that they're sponsored by food and drink producers from across the county, so it really does invest in our talent. Northamptonshire is a bit of a hidden gem in foodie circles.

"Each category can typically generate 900-1000 entries, so the judges will have their work to do."
