Excitement has been building at the Racecourse as many colourful hot air balloons take to the sky this weekend.

Spectators will see stunts and historical re-enactments such as, Vikings and the American Civil-War.

Looking up to the skies you may see inflatable aliens, trains, and three Bertie Bassetts, which will be the first time all three appear together.

The festival is running everyday between 12pm to 8pm from this Friday up until Sunday.

Last year around 65,000 people turned up to watch the spectacle as it was revived after a four-year hiatus.

Showtime Events Group agreed to bring back the iconic festival in 2023, four years after Billing Aquadrome pulled out of hosting the event.

The festival was first introduced by Northampton Borough Council in 1989, who stopped it’s funding in 2008.
