Man left with facial injuries after assault in Northampton

It was over the dropping of litter

A man was assaulted and left with facial injuries after challenging another man who had dropped litter in Market Walk, Northampton.

The incident occurred between 3.30pm and 4pm on Wednesday, October 23, near to the junction with Kettering Road, a verbal argument occurred between the two men, which turned physical and resulted in a man in his 40s sustaining facial injuries.

The offender was a white man aged 45-50, about 5ft 6in and of a large build with very short dark hair and facial stubble.

During the argument, the offender called over a second man, who is described as white, aged 30-35, about 5ft 10in and of an athletic build with longer dark hair.

The pair left in a white transit van along with a third man who stayed with the vehicle. He is described as white, about 5ft 10in and of a slim build.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.
