Man jailed over stabbing of boy in Corby
He was arrested after a high speed chase
A man who stabbed a 16-year-old boy in Corby before engaging police officers in a dangerous vehicle pursuit has been jailed.
At about 5pm on April 15th, Max Daniel Boulton, aged 19, previously of Corby, chased the boy through an alleyway in Shetland Way before stabbing him twice in the back.
The victim managed to get to his girlfriend’s house nearby before he was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries.
Thankfully he would go on to make a full recovery.
Following the attack, Boulton knew the police were looking for him and the next day, when they tracked him to a hotel in Market Harborough, sped off in a red Ford Kuga car.
The pursuit lasted 20 minutes with Boulton driving dangerously through narrow country roads - carrying out dangerous overtaking manoeuvres, reaching speeds of up to 100mph and filming part of the pursuit whilst it was happening and posting the footage onto Snapchat.
The car was eventually stopped in Brixworth and Boulton was arrested and subsequently charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, dangerous driving, and possession of a knife.
After pleading guilty to the offences at Northampton Crown Court at an earlier hearing, Boulton was sentenced to three years and 10 months in prison.
Lead investigator - Detective Constable Kerry White said:
“First of all I want to thank the 16-year-old boy in this case and his family for their support during our investigation. I hope this result provides them with some closure.
“I am pleased to see Boulton sentenced for his crimes, and I really hope he uses his time inside prison to reflect on his actions. He is only young and can choose to live a law-abiding, fulfilling life when he is released. Hopefully he makes the right choice.
“Tackling serious violence is a matter of priority for Northamptonshire Police and I want to reassure the public that our determination to bring as many offenders as possible to justice remains as strong as ever.”
