A 19-year-old man from Northampton has been jailed for two years after pleading guilty to dealing Class A drugs.

Daniel Lake was stopped by officers on foot patrol in the St James area on March 10. He was seen leaving a property in Sunderland Street wearing all black and a balaclava. Officers detained him nearby on St James Park Road and found he was carrying a large amount of cash and a mobile phone.

A search of the address he had just left uncovered quantities of heroin, cocaine and MDMA.

Lake, of Sunderland Street, was charged with three counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court in April and was sentenced at the same court on June 3.

Detective Constable Emma Powell said: “I am pleased to see Daniel Lake handed a custodial sentence as it demonstrates that drug dealing does not pay in Northamptonshire. This was a good job involving a number of departments, and I’d particularly like to thank the officers who arrested Lake for their proactivity and determination to keep the people in this county safe.”

She added: “Our desire to put more people like Lake in prison will not waver.”
