Man dies after gliders collide at a Northampton airfield

A man has died in a collision between two gliders at an airfield near Brackley.

Northamptonshire Police are investigating the collision.

Northamptonshire Police have begun an investigation after a 45 year old man died following a collision between two gliders.

The incident happened at an airfield near Brackley.

Emergency services were called to Hinton-in-the-Hedges near Brackley yesterday afternoon just before 4 o'clock.

Northamptonshire Police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances around the incident to understand the cause of the collision.

They remain at the scene this morning.

The force is urging anyone who may have information that could help with the investigation, including mobile phone footage, to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting the incident number 340 of 25/05/24.
