Man charged with rape in Northampton
It happened at The Mounts in the early hours of Tuesday 28th May.
A man has been charged with rape in connection with an incident in The Mounts, Northampton.
Norhtamptonshire Police say 40-year-old Mohammed Ali Sheikh, of St Michael’s Road, Northampton, is charged with one count of rape following an incident between midnight and 1.30am on Tuesday May 28th in which a woman was sexually assaulted inside an address.
Sheikh appeared before Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday June 5th.
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Northampton Crown Court On July 17th.
Detectives who are investigating this incident would still like to hear from residents in the vicinity of Military Road and Clare Street who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time but who have not yet come forward.
