Man charged with GBH with intent following incident in Rothwell

A man has been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent following an incident in Rothwell on Friday night, December 29.

Northamptonshire Police were called to reports of an assault taking place at a bar in Bell Hill, in the market town of Rothwell, at around 11.45pm.

The 38-year-old victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition, after he sustained serious neck injuries.

A man in his 30s from Rothwell, has now been charged with GBH with intent and being in possession of cocaine in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 2.

Detectives investigating the incident are calling on the public and witnesses to come forward if they have any information that could help the force.
