Man arrested in connection with murder of Robert Brown

A 41-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of Robert Brown in Northampton has been released on bail, pending further investigation.
A spokesperson for Northamptonshire police said:
"Police were called by the East Midlands Ambulance Service at about 6.30am on Friday, August 1, when Robert, aged 57, was found fatally injured on a bench on the towpath behind Auctioneers Court, and a murder investigation was launched.
Detective Inspector Torie Harrison, who is leading the murder investigation, said: “We are following all lines of enquiry as we work to establish the circumstances of Robert’s death and I’m thankful to everyone who has assisted us with our work so far.
“We continue to ask for anyone who may have been in the area of the towpath behind Auctioneers Court from the evening of Thursday, July 31, to the morning of Friday, August 1, to contact us. Although you may think you don’t have any information that could help us, that may not be the case.
“If you think you have any information that may help the investigation, please get in touch.”
A 38-year-old man arrested in connection with Robert’s murder on Wednesday, August 6, has been released on police bail pending further investigation.
