Local transport is set to benefit from £162 million pounds of spending in parts of Northamptonshire - from redirected HS2 cash.

It’s part of national investment through the Government’s Local Transport Fund.

West Northamptonshire Council say they’ll work with the Department of Transport on how this will be implemented, as it looks to work on the area’s transport plan and bus strategy.

It could mean better public transport links in Northampton, Daventry, Towcester and Brackley, and all the villages and rural areas of West Northants.

The authority wants to look at connectivity between towns and suburbs, and improve everyday journeys.

The money will be for the next seven years from 2025.
