Kettering Town to face Doncaster Rovers in FA Cup 2nd round

It's after they beat local rivals Northampton Town 2-1 on the weekend.

Kettering Town have drawn Doncaster Rovers at home in the second round of the FA Cup, after they beat local rivals Northampton Town 2-1.

It was the first time the two Northamptonshire sides faced each other since 1989, and it took extra time for Kettering to snatch a winner.

It means a visit to Latimer Park for the South Yorkshire outfit, who currently sit 4th in League Two.

Goal scorers (02/11): NTFC - Connor Johnson OG (28'), KTFC - Luca Miller (66'), Nile Ranger (ET: 92')

Kettering Town have received £45,000 for advancing to the next stage, which will be played on the weekend between the 29th of November and 2nd of December.

The draw last night also saw the likes of Burton Albion up against Tamworth- who dispatched of former Premier League side Huddersfield Town- and Reading vs Harborough Town.

Northampton Town manager, Jon Brady- who used to play for Kettering in 2007/08- said after the match, "it's a really bad night for us" but sends their wishes to The Poppies for the rest of their cup campaign.
