Kettering hospice say the cost of living crisis is one of their biggest issues
Cransley Hospice say fundraising is a massive issue, with energy bills set to increase again.
A Kettering hospice say the cost of living crisis is one of the biggest issues affecting them currently.
It comes as a 2% energy price rise was announced this week by Ofgem as the price cap, the amount companies can raise prices, is due to go up.
It's a move which is predicted to affect millions of households.
Jenine Rees is head of fundraising at Cransley Hospice and says the cost of living crisis hits charities like Cransley too:
"For many people, many households are struggling. We just had the news the other day that, energy costs are going to go up again. And this all has an impact on people's money that they're able to give the way that they're able to support charities.
"So for us, you know it, it does have an impact in terms of fundraising. We aim to raise just over £1,000,000 a year for to support Cransley Hospice."
The team are gearing up to their Go Green for Cransley campaign, running for Hospice Week from October 6th, which aims to raise £15,000 for the hospice.
People are encouraged to donate or get sponsorship for any green activities, from wearing green, to baking green treats and even cycling instead of going by car.
Jenine says every little helps:
"Fundraising is a is a huge issue and it becomes harder and harder. Not only have people got less money to spend, but there's more and more charities out there with very compelling case for supports
"We're here to champion end of life care and the importance of that and huge difference it can make to patients and their families."
Rebecca Patenall is corporate and community fundraiser at Cransley Hospice:
"You pray no one has to use it, (Cransley Hospice) but you may have to one day. And if that service is gone, what's the alternative?
"How do you have a comfortable death if the Hospice has gone? We can't afford to lose it."
Rebecca says people that have had experiences with Cransley are it's biggest supporters.
