Jail for woman who set fire to her ex-partners Northampton flat

39 year old Lauren Marie Talbot had set fire to her own flat six months before.

Lauren Marie Talbot, who is 39 and formerly from Northampton, travelled to her ex's flat in Drapery on June 18th last year.

She left bottle of butane burning outside his front door. A huge explosion then caused structural damage to the building.

They terrifying explosion was caught on CCTV.

Talbot thought her ex was home at the time, thankfully they weren't.

It's after she set fire to her own flat 6 months before on December 21st 2022. When fire crews attended the flat on Shelley Street in Kingsley, they found “This flat can burn in hell” writing on the wall.

Shortly after setting fire to her ex-partners flat, she was caught by police charged with arson with intent to endanger life. She pleaded guilty to both offences in September last year at Northampton Crown Court.

Police say it was lucky no one was injured.

This week she was sentenced to six years in prison with an extended period of four years
