Proceedings were halted last month

The gross misconduct hearing for Northamptonshire's Chief Constable resumes today (Thursday June 20th).

Nick Adderley is accused of misrepresenting his military service.

When the panel gathered previously in late May at Franklin's Gardens Northampton, it heard allegations of Mr Adderley's exaggeration of his time and roles with the Navy.

Those representing the suspended Chief Constable had suggested the chair of the panel had a "closed mind" , however, in relation to Mr Adderley's honesty.

Submissions on that matter were the reason for the adjournment and also so two authors mentioned in the hearing could be contacted by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

Proceedings are due to take place initially over the next two days.
