Daventry Banksie hangs up paintbrushes
She says the council have listened to her protest signs
A local protest artist known as Daventry Banksie tells us she’s hanging up her paintbrushes
Her comic signs in the town drew attention to the potholes.
In a statement released to us she said:
"After a month and half and 46 signs, I decided to hang up my paintbrushes. It was never about me it was always about Daventry.
I've achieved what I set out to achieve. I highlighted the pot hole problem and got the council to listen. Roadworks have begun.
I am so grateful for all the support, couldn't of done it without it. Just proves you achieve more when you work together.
To now see other Towns following what we've done in Daventry is fantastic, we set a trend.
A message to all...hold your Council to account, ask questions and if needed put up a funny sign.
Thank you for sharing this journey with us."
West Northants Council say they've invested in new equipment to fix potholes more efficiently, and that they were always waiting for the end of the cold wet weather to start work.
