Corby man jailed for breaching restraining order
He turned up at a woman's home and posted letters to her
A man from Corby has been jailed after admitting to breaching his restraining order.
42 year old Maciej Henryk Lesczczynski was handed a restraining order in January this year, which prevented him from contacting a woman he knew. The order also stated that he was not allowed to go to any address he knew her to be at.
On February 3 and again on February 6, Lesczczynski turned up at the woman's home address, called her intercom and posted letters addressed to her.
When police arrived on February 6 after a call for help, they located Lesczczynski inside the flat’s communal space and arrested him. He was charged with three counts of breaching his restraining order.
After pleading guilty to the offences at Northampton Crown Court in February, Lesczczynski returned to the same court where he was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison.
Lead investigator - PC Max Grigorjevs said: “Maciej Lesczczynski breached his restraining order multiple times just over a week after it was issued.
“This shows both a blatant disregard for the law and a complete lack of awareness regarding how serious these orders are and why they are put in place.
“Tackling violence against women and girls is something Northamptonshire Police continues to focus on, and I want to reassure people that we will continue working hard to put more people like Maciej Lesczczynski behind bars.”
