An art project collecting used train tickets from all stations around the UK to Northampton may never be finished, despite already collecting thousand of tickets.

Railway worker, Elliot Badger, started the project known as ‘All Aboard Northampton’ in 2015, as he was curious where people travelled from to reach the town.

He’s already collected for 2,000 tickets and still needs approximately 600 more to finish the collection of artwork.

However, as we move into an even more technological world where more of us are buying train tickets on the phone, the phasing out of the tickets means that it may never be finished.

Mr Badger said: “It’s very unlikely to be fully completed, as the old card ticket stock is being phased out so most tickets are currently on people’s phones.”

He added there are some other challenges that he faces: “New stations are being built and other stations are being closes, some stations are so remote that they don’t even have access and some even have a service once a week.
