19-year-old drug dealer sentenced in Northampton
Ijaz Miah was found to be in possession of 132 wraps of Class A drugs worth more than £1,300 and two mobile phones.
A 19-year-old drug dealer has been sent to prison after he admitted to being involved in the supply of Class A drugs.
In March Ijaz Miah was spotted by patrolling police officers in the Leicester Street area of Northampton in the company of an associate and several known drug users.
However, when the officers approached him to conduct a search under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, Miah attempted to make off but was quickly detained a short time later.
He was then found to be in possession of 132 wraps of Class A drugs worth more than £1,300 and two mobile phones.
He was arrested and subsequently charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
In May, Miah appeared at Northampton Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to both offences, returning to the same court last month (18 August), where he was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison.
