Team GB claim more Olympic medals to make Rio most successful away games ever
Team GB hit 50 at Rio Olympics!
Team GB have yet again made history in the latest round of events, taking their overall medal total to 50, meaning Rio is now Britain's most successful ever away games.
Following on from the amazing show in the first week of the 2016 games, the Team GB athletes have continued their success into the second week picking up another nine medals on day 11.
Cyclist Laura Trott became Britain's greatest female Olympian after claiming her fourth gold medal. After dominating the omnium event across the six disciplines, Laura blew the competition away to cross the line in first place.

Laura's fiancé and Team GB's male cycling star, Jason Kenny, set the Velodrome alight again after winning gold in the men's keirin race.
After the nail biting final was stopped twice after riders appeared to break the rules, judges ruled a restart on two separate occasions. Despite the controversy, Jason stayed composed and matched Olympic legend Sir Chris Hoy's medal tally of six golds and one silver.

Giles Scott sailed his way to a gold after an impressive performance in sailings finn class event. The gold is Britain's fifth successive in the event at the Olympics.

16-year-old Amy Tinker added to Team GB's gymnastics medal tally after winning bronze in the women's floor event.
Less than an hour later Nile Wilson added another when he picked up a bronze in the men's high bar event. The 20-year-old is appearing at his first Olympics and just missed out on a silver behind Team USA.

Team GB boxer Joshua Buatsi picked up a bronze medal in the light-heavyweight category after his narrow defeat in the semi-final.
There was yet more success in the Velodrome as Becky James secured a silver medal in the women's sprint. Having already picked up a silver in the keirin event early in the week, Becky failed to beat Kristina Vogel in the sprint final narrowly missing out on gold.
Becky's teammate, Katy Marchant was also successful in her bronze medal race against the Netherlands' Elis Ligtlee.

To round up the historic day, diver Jack Laugher picked up a silver medal in the men's 3m springboard event.
After winning gold with his partner Chris Mears in the 3m synchronised, Jack nervously made it through the qualifying stage. The 21-year-old shook off any bad performances in the final to take silver behind China.

With a total medal tally of 50, Team GB's athletes look well on their way to match the 65 medals picked up at London 2012.
The women's hockey team play New Zealand in the semi-final today (Thursday 17th August) with Olympic favourite Tom Daley setting his sights on a gold medal in the diving on Friday.
