Northumbria Police are appealing for witnesses to a two vehicle collision which happened in Newcastle last week.

At 5pm on March 25, reports came in that a white Mercedes Sprinter van and a red VW Up had collided at the crossroad junction of Fossway, Sutton Street and Scrogg Road, Walker.

It is understood the VW had been travelling along Sutton Street and the Mercedes had been travelling along the Fossway when, for reasons yet to be established, they have collided in the middle of the junction, causing damage to both vehicles, and a set of traffic lights.

An investigation into the circumstances behind the collision is underway and officers are keen to hear from anyone who might have seen the incident, or who might have dashcam footage from the location.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police by calling 101 or using the Tell us Something page on the forces website quoting log 787 25/03/21.
