The strong winds on Thursday afternoon and night has caused some problems.

It was another windy one which caused a wall to collapse on Elswick Road in Newcastle.

It happened at 4.08pm on Thursday.

No-one was hurt.

In Sunderland, Roker Avenue had to be closed because of an unsafe building following the winds.

In the Ovington area of Northumberland there was a loss of power to a number of homes.

A power cable came down at 4.22pm.

Extra officers were in the area to provide reassurance.
