Polish TV presenter, Marzena Rogalska, had a nasty surprise when she was asked to be a magician's assistant.
The incident happened over the weekend on a show called Question for Breakfast.
A semi-finalist from Poland's Got Talent was showing off his new trick, which apparently went fine in rehearsals, involving a large nail hidden in a brown paper bag.
The idea of the trick was that the nail would disappear and the hosts would crush each bag in turn to prove that the nail had disappeared.
The magican grabs Marzena's hand and pushes it down on the bag which is meant to be empty, but unfortunately for Marzena the nail impales her hand.
Writhing in pain, the presenter can be seen grabbing her hand with the nail clearly through it, when the magician realises what has happened.

Marzena is then led off camera where she is apparently taken to hospital for medical attention and a tetanus shot.
You can watch the clip from the show below, but be warned it is not for the squeamish.

Later a video is posted on Marzena's Facebook page showing her hand bandaged tightly, with the status 'Thank you for your support. I'm alive. Everything will be fine.'
