After the government announced that care homes are able to have relatives in for visits, a Wallsend care home will be one of the country’s first to welcome visitors today.

Eothen Homes have built a special ‘pod’ for relatives to be in the same room together for the first time in several months.

Freda Maddison, who's 92, was able to see her son - the pair haven't been in the same room together since September.
