Now many of us have mobile and internet banking with complicated codes, passwords and security questions, but what if an app existed where you could access your money using selfies and voice recognition?

Well Durham based company Atom has developed an app that does just that.

It has revolutionised mobile banking as we know it by launching the UK’s first entirely digital bank.

The Atom Bank app removes the need for high street branches and gives account holders three innovative ways of logging in to choose from.

Craig Iley is Managing Director of Business Banking at Atom:

“You’ve got the ability to log in using your face, your voice or a pin and that allows us to do a number of things. Apart from making it a lot more interactive it also makes it more secure. It’s personalised and gives people the opportunity to customise how they deal with the bank”

Customers can opt to log in using voice recognition technology, take a selfie or if they’d prefer to stick to the status quo, log in using a 6 digit code.

Lisa Wood is Chief Marketing officer for atom:

“The reason why we’re using technology is to make the experience for our customers easy, simple and straight-forward and that’s really what led us to use biometrics. We know a huge frustration for people is the remembering of passcodes and passwords”
