A teenage boy is in hospital after a serious assault in Gateshead. At around 10.10pm last night (Friday, June 10) police were called to reports that a 15 year old boy had been assaulted at the quarry in Clara Vale in Gateshead. Emergency services attended and the teenager was taken to hospital by paramedics where he remains in a critical but stable condition. Two teenage boys - aged 16 and 15 - have been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and currently remain in police custody.
