Two seriously injured in Northumberland crash

Police are looking for any witnesses

Police are looking for witnesses to a crash in Northumberland which left two people in hospital with serious injuries.

It happened at around 6:50pm last Sunday (June 13) on the B6318 Military Road. A black BMW collided with a blue Renault, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The collision was around 200 yards from the Two Hoots junction.

Both drivers were taken to hospital with serious injuries but are now in a stable condition. A passenger in the BMW was also taken to hospital.

An investigation has now been launched into what happened. Constable Andy Donald from Northumbria Police said:

“This was a very serious collision which has left three people injured and both drivers receiving serious injuries.

“Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing and we are keen to hear from anyone who can help us build up a clear picture of the moments which led up to this incident.

“If you were travelling on the B6318 Military Road at that time and saw a blue Renault or black BMW, please get in touch with us. We are especially interested in hearing from any motorists that may have dash-cam footage.”
