Tributes are continuing to be paid to a former radio presenter in the North East - who's died at the age of just 52.

Our friend and former colleague Brian Moore passed away on Saturday.

He was a well known name in the 90s and naughties spending 17 years on Metro Radio as well as hosting shows in other parts of the UK.

Angela Moore posted on Facebook on behalf of hers and Brian's children David and Georgina:

"It breaks our hearts to even put these words together. Yesterday we lost our beloved dad Brian Moore."

"He passed away in his sleep peacefully. He had been poorly since 2018 after having his stroke."

"Dad was a friend to many and anyone he met. Those of you who were lucky enough to have met dad always came away with a smile."

Dom Munnelly, regional marketing director with Hits Radio, issued a statement:

"We are all very saddened to hear about Brian's passing. He was a kind and incredibly talented person and loved across the industry.

"We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and those that had the privilege of working with him during his extremely successful career in radio."

"I was lucky enough to work with Brian for several years, and he really was a consummate professional. He was an absolute gentleman. He would light up a room wherever he went, and most of all, he was a genuine man."

Former colleagues and friends took to social media to remember Brian.

Brian was one of the kindest, modest, honest, genuine, funny, loving men you'd ever meet in your life.

Whether you'd known him for 1 minute or 10 years Brian had the ability to make you feel like his best friend and leave you absolutely gleaming after you met him.

He was an incredible human being and will be sorely missed by everyone.

RIP Bri x
