Tipu Sultan Murder - 2 Men Charged

Two South Shields men have been remanded into custody charged with the murder of Tipu Sultan.

Michael McDougal, 47, of Hylton Avenue, and Stephen Mullen, 24, of Hawthorne Avenue, appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates Court this morning.

They'll next appear at a bail hearing to be held at Newcastle Crown Court within 48 hours.

Dad of two Tipu, 32, was shot dead outside the Herbs n Spice Kitchen takeaway in Lake Avenue, South Shields, just before 9.58pm on Tuesday, April 7.
