Thousands expected at fifth Tynemouth food festival
Thousands of people and more than 70 market stalls and street vendors expected at Tynemouth Castle and Priory.
Thousands are expected to flock to Tynemouth this weekend in the towns fifth annual food festival.
More than 70 market stalls and street vendors will be stationed at the Castle and Priory with chef demo's, music and magic.
Local chefs, food workshops, live entertainment and children’s activities are planned all topped with a great selection of food and drink to satisfy the taste buds.
There will be more than 50 local producer stalls, a huge street food area featuring 20 of the North East’s street food vendors.
Sally Craigen, one of the organisers and owner of Martineau Guest House says it’s a great chance to show off our local talent.
She said:
“It’s not just Tynemouth but showcasing what the North East has to offer. Most of the producers at the food festival are form the local area, not exclusively but most of them are so it just shows what range and produce we have here.
“Some people are coming to Tynemouth for the first time and they can just see what a lovely place it is and what a vibrant place it is. So they’ll think to come back. One of the local businesses said to me last year that they see a huge footfall of people, more than they a normal Saturday and Sunday.”
