Police arrest man in connection with stabbing at Thornaby petrol station

A 28-year-old man remains in police custody following the attack

Police in Teesside have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a serious stabbing at a petrol station.

Officers were alerted to an incident taking place at a service stop in the Hollybush area on Saturday (October 12th).

When responders arrived at the station at 5:30am, they found a man in his 30s, who had suffered serious stab injuries.

The victim was given immediate medical treatment by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital.

He currently remains in a stable condition in hospital following the incident, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are continuing to question the 28-year-old man, and he remains in police custody while enquiries are ongoing.

Meanwhile, an appeal for information and witnesses to the incident is being renewed in the hopes of finding new information.
