Teen killed in Ashington crash
A teenager has died following a crash in Ashington.
Ricky Tynemouth, 17, from Guidepost, was a passenger in a car that came off the road on the A196 near South Farm in Choppington at around 7.30pm last night (Wednesday, April 13).
Two men - also aged 17 - were taken to hospital for treatment but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The driver of the car - an 18-year-old man - has been arrested on suspision of causing death by dangerous driving.
A section of the A196 was closed for several hours to allow for collision investigation to take place.
Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and officers want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and who saw what happened to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 901 13/04/16.
