Teen charged with firearm offence in Byker
In connection with an incident on Wednesday
Police have charged a woman with a firearms offence following an incident in Byker on Wednesday, March 30.
Alliyah Jackson, who is 18 and from Linnetsfield in Walker, has this morning been charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear and violence.
She has been bailed to appear at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on May 6.
Enquiries remain ongoing into the incident and police are continuing to appeal to any witnesses that were in Shields Road at around 2:17pm on Wednesday to contact them.
A man smashed the window of a silver Toyota Yaris that was parked near to the Raby pub and the occupants of the car chased after him.
Witnesses reported to police seeing a small firearm of some kind during the incident.
We believe that those involved in this incident are known to each other and that there is no risk to the wider public.
