Suspected Criminals Targeted Abroad

It was back in May 2006 the idyllic Masrden Grotto in South Shields was turned into a crime scene.

42 year old David “Noddy” Rive was shot dead in an execution style slaying.

Two masked men with semi-automatic weapons shot him 9 times before fleeing – one of them, Steven Bevens, of Birtley, Gateshead was jailed for life.

Northumbria police have also believed the other man was Allan Foster of South Shields.

43 year old Foster, who may have fled to Spain, is also wanted for two offences of conspiring to supply controlled drugs and for the theft of a diamond.

Today the National Crime Agency will drive round a giant digital screen displaying the faces of some of Britain’s most wanted in popular expat areas of Spain.

The 13ft screen will broadcast the faces of 18 men who’re being sought in connection with a range of alleged crimes including rape, drug trafficking and murder.

It’ll park outside nightclubs, bars, supermarkets and restaurants – the campaign is part of Operation Captura which targets British fugitives believed to be hiding out in Spain.

So far 68 of 88 wanted people have been apprehended – you can find out more here:
