Suspected arson attack at Gateshead Stadium
Nobody was injured in the blaze.
Police are appealing for information after a fire at Gateshead stadium. At 6:55pm on Tuesday, April 26, vandals set fire to a number of crash mats behind a fenced area at the stadium on Neilson Road. Fire services attended, extinguished the fire and enquiries are now ongoing into the incident, which police are treating as a suspected arson. Anyone with any information into the fire is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 896 26/04/16.
