Sunderland schoolboy knocked down on zebra crossing

Police are appealing for witnesses after a schoolboy was knocked over in Sunderland.

The collision happened yesterday at 8.40am on Thursday, December 8, on Grindon Lane next to Sandhill School.

A blue Vauxhall corsa knocked the 11-year-old boy over as he was on the Zebra crossing.

The boy received medical treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be serious.

The driver of the vehicle stopped but left the scene before police arrived and officers are keen for the driver to get in contact.
