CCTV appeal after car set on fire in Sunderland

Officers investigating an arson offence in Sunderland have released the image of a man they would like to identify.

Shortly before 9pm on May 23, officers were called to an address on Scoresby Close following a report of a car fire.

It was reported that an offender sprayed an unknown liquid over the windscreen of a vehicle parked outside of an address before setting it on fire.

Thankfully nobody was injured but a full investigation was immediately launched in a bid to locate those responsible.

Today, after following various lines of enquiry, police have released the image of a man who they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

He was seen in the area at the time that the car was set on fire and could have information that can assist the investigation.
