Sexual Assault in Sunderland

Police are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault in Sunderland. It happened at 12.45am, in the early hours of Sunday, March 8. A 22-year-old woman was walking along Station Road in Houghton when she was approached by two unknown men. One grabbed her arms while the other touched her inappropriately over her clothing. One of the offenders is described as having fair hair and wearing light coloured chino style trousers and a blue top. Police are carrying out enquiries in the area and are appealing for witnesses. Anyone who was in the pubs in Houghton town centre on the evening of Saturday, March 8 and may recognise the man from the description is asked to contact police.
