Quality Street removes one of its oldest sweets from its selection
It was created in 1919
Confectionery manufacturers Nestlé have dropped a bombshell for all toffee deluxe lovers.
The sweet which has been included in their Quality Street selection for 80 years has been ditched in favour of a new Honeycomb Crunch.
The decision has been made due to customer feedback stating there were too many toffee sweets, however judging by the reaction on Twitter there are still a lot of people out there who love the toffee deluxe.
In case you can't remember the toffee deluxe was the sweet in a brown metallic wrapper, containing a block of toffee covered in chocolate.
The toffee deluxe was invented in 1919 and included in the Quality Street selection from its beginning in 1936. The last time a new chocolate was introduced to the selection was in 2007 when the Milk Chocolate Block was added.
Nestlé have assured fans however that the toffee deluxe isn't gone forever and will still be available as part of special toffee packs.
This year is the 80th anniversary of the Quality Street brand.
