Manhunt underway after a stabbing in Jarrow

At 6am this morning police responded to a report a man had been stabbed at Jarrow Metro Station, he was found at the bus stop in Albert Road.
The man has been taken to the RVI by paramedics for treatment, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The A185 was closed both ways as police investigated and Metros were stopped for a short time to allow the incident to be dealt with but are now running as normal.
Enquiries are on-going to trace a named suspect.
