Police investigate report of rape in Newcastle
Police are appealing for information after a report of a rape in Newcastle City Centre. At 1:38 am this morning, Tuesday December 6, police received a report of a man having been raped in Newcastle. The incident happened in an area near to the Boulevard Public House. An investigation is underway and a section of the area has been cordoned off while enquiries are carried out. There are extra officers in the area carrying out patrols and speaking to people this morning. A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody. Anyone who was in the area this morning and who saw or heard anything is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 45 06/12/16.
