Three people have been taken to hospital after a police car on a 999 call crashed in Whitley Bay.
It happened at around 10.30pm last night, when the car hit another vehicle in Earsdon Road near the entrance to West Park while reponding to an emergency call.
The driver of the car and the two officers have been taken to the RVI for treatment.
