Police appeal after a shopworker is injured in Newcastle robbery
A 27-year-old man was left with injuries to his head
Officers investigating a city centre robbery in Newcastle which left a shop worker injured have released the image of three males they would like to identify.
Shortly before 2.45pm on August 28, officers were contacted by the ambulance service, who were in attendance at Nisa Local on Sandyford Road.
It was reported that three males had entered the store and helped themselves to a quantity of alcohol before attempting to leave without paying.
When challenged by a staff member outside the shop, the males have then pushed him to the ground and repeatedly kicked him - causing him injuries to his head and jaw.
The males have then shouted abuse at on-duty paramedic who witnessed the incident and tried to disperse the group by turning on the lights and sirens of his vehicle. They have then left the scene.
The 27-year-old shop worker received treatment for minor injuries and an investigation was launched by officers at Northumbria Police.
As part of their ongoing enquiries, officers have today released the images of a group of males who were in the area at the time of the offence and could have information that can assist with the investigation.
